The Reverend Cracks The DaPinchMe Code

On Rev. Bookburn's next show: The Reverend Cracks The DaPinchMe Code. These revelations have caused the dresses of pedophile priests to curl up. They have caused fundamentalists worldwide to moan in tongues. Now for the first time, you can hear them for yourself. There will be multiple song selections that will also contain clues to the Code. This will also be the last show in May- National Masturbation Month, so we'll duly celebrate.

The Spy On This! show was fun. There were some contributions from Bookburners that were sick, perverted and twisted; others not as good. However, we seemed to inspire folks to put on truly worthwhile shows for the Bush regime spies. Even better if people remain actively creative, distracting, pranksterish, and non-passive in their world.

Forthcoming shows:

June 4: Hookergate

June 11: Rattle Cry

June 25: Memorial Tribute to Marlon Solar- One Year Later

Hookergate will be entertaining and informative about the latest scandal of the Bush regime. This is certainly the juiciest of their scandals and crimes.

Rattle Cry will be a response to the youth-outreaching cultish, far-right, theocratic Battle Cry/ Teen Mania/ Ron Luce ministries.

The tribute to Marlon Solar will mark the one year anniversary of his passing. Marlon was the Producer of The Reverend Is In and a great friend. This show will include an updated report on Herman, who was Marlon's cat and now lives with Demonica and The Reverend.

Bill Maher's closing bit on Bush:

"Mr. President, this job can't be fun for you any more. There's no more
money to spend--you used up all of that. You can't start another war
because you used up the army. And now, darn the luck, the rest of your
term has become the Bush family nightmare: helping poor people.

Listen to your Mom. The cupboard's bare, the credit cards maxed out. No
one's speaking to you. Mission accomplished.

"Now it's time to do what you've always done best: lose interest and
walk away. Like you did with your military service and the oil company
and the baseball team. It's time. Time to move on and try the next
fantasy job.

How about cowboy or space man? Now I know what you're saying: there's so many other
things that you as President could involve yourself in.
Please don't.

I know, I know. There's a lot left to do. There's a war
with Venezuela. Eliminating the sales tax on yachts. Turning the space program over
to the church. And Social Security to Fannie Mae. Giving embryos the vote.

"But, Sir, none of that is going to happen now. Why? Because you govern like Billy
Joel drives. You've performed so poorly I'm surprised that you haven't given
yourself a medal. You're a catastrophe that walks like a man.

Herbert Hoover was a shitty president, but even he never conceded an entire city to
rising water and snakes.

"On your watch, we've lost almost all of our allies, the surplus, four airlines, two
trade centers, a piece of the Pentagon, and the City of New Orleans. Maybe you're
just not lucky. I'm not saying you don't love this country. I'm just wondering how
much worse it could be if you were on the other side.

So, yes, God does speak to you. What he is saying is:
"Take a hint."

Ok, enough fun for now. See you Sunday when we crack the code and code the crack.

Spy On This!

On the next Reverend Is In show: Spy On This!

Since the anti-democracy, anti-Bill of Rights, anti-Constitution, anti-freedom, anti-justice Bush regime has escalated domestic spying to
even greater heights than during Operation COINTELPRO in the 1960s...

Since the Patriot Act has passed and been used against non-threatening people...

Since these snooping, voyeuristic, stalking peepers seem more eager than ever to see people giving them a show...

Let's give it to them!

Let's give the spy-types shows they'll remember for life! You have until Sunday to send in your ideas for what these assholes deserve to see. No need to hold back. The Reverend is highly unlikely to perceive ideas for this show to be too shocking, revolting, perverted or distasteful. You can send ideas to We already have some delicious contributions, including a pasta fantasy and one with a Dubya cut-out.

We'll have lots of fun with the spies, discuss shows to put on for them, a hilarious private investigator story and much more.

Since May is also National Masturbation Month, we'll integrate the theme with the NMM celebration. For more about NMM, check out Masturbation is Sex with Someone You Love and other relevant articles by Dr. Suzy Also there are updates on the forthcoming fund-raising events at How does one pledge for that?

There are many books about Operation COINTELPRO (late 60s, early 70s) and the FBI's infiltration, sabotage and violent attacks against activists. Some of the most informative are from South End Press. The following three titles are worthwhile.

Agents of Repression
The FBI’s Secret Wars Against the American Indian Movement and the Black Panther Party
Ward Churchill and Jim Vander Wall

American Methods (Paper)
Torture and the Logic of Domination
Kristian Williams

The COINTELPRO Papers (paper)

And for the RIAA/ corporate media:

The following was received from the Radio Volta e-list. We consistently seek to stay afloat of the latest legislation that is corporate media-friendly and a threat to independent media.

The Season of Bad Laws, Part 3: Banning MP3 Streaming April 26, 2006
The *Washington Post*
Senators Feinstein (D-Cal.) and Graham (
R-S.C.) have introduced S. 2644, dubbed the PERFORM
that is aimed at punishing satellite radio for offering its subscribers
devices capable of recording off the air.

Buried in the bill, however, is a provision that would effectively require
music webcasters to use DRM-laden streaming formats, rather than the MP3
streaming format used by Live365 ,
and many smaller webcasters (like Santa Monica's KCRW
and Seattle's
KEXP ). The streaming radio stations included in
iTunes also rely on MP3 streams (since Apple isn't about to license the Real
or Microsoft streaming codecs).

Today, webcasters that want to transmit major label music are entitled to do
so under a statutory license (administered by SoundExchange) set out in section
114(d) of the Copyright
Act. So long as they follow the rules and pay a royalty, webcasters can play
whatever music they like, using whatever streaming format they like.

Under the current law, webcasters are forbidden from helping their listeners
record the webcasts, and are required to use DRM *only if the format
includes DRM*. The statutory license applies so long as:

[114(d)(2)(C)(vi)] the transmitting entity takes no affirmative steps to
cause or induce the making of a phonorecord by the transmission recipient,
and if the technology used by the transmitting entity enables the
transmitting entity to limit the making by the transmission recipient of
phonorecords of the transmission directly in a digital format, the
transmitting entity sets such technology to limit such making of
phonorecords *to the extent permitted by such technology.*

The PERFORM Act would change that, *requiring* webcasters to use DRM that
restricts the recording of webcasts. That means no more MP3 streams if you
rely on the statutory license. Under the bill, the statutory license would
only be available to a webcaster if:

[114(d)(2)(C)(vi)] the transmitting entity takes no affirmative steps to
authorize, enable, cause or induce the making of a copy or phonorecord by or
for the transmission recipient and uses technology that is reasonably
available, technologically feasible, and economically reasonable *to prevent
the making of copies* or phonorecords embodying the transmission in whole or
in part, except for reasonable recording as defined in this subsection.

What constitutes "reasonable recording," you ask? Well, reasonable recording
is basically the feature set offered by analog cassette decks in the 1970s:

A `reasonable recording' means the making of a phonorecord embodying all or
part of a performance licensed under this section for private, noncommercial
use where technological measures used by the transmitting entity, and which
are incorporated into a recording device (i) permit automated recording or
playback based on specific programs, time periods, or channels as selected
by or for the user; (ii) do not permit automated recording or playback based
on specific sound recordings, albums, or artists; (iii) do not permit the
separation of component segments of the copyrighted material contained in
the transmission program which results in the playback of a manipulated
sequence; and (iv) do not permit the redistribution, retransmission or other
exporting of a phonorecord embodying all or part of a performance licensed
under this section from the device by digital outputs or removable media,
unless the destination device is part of a secure in-home network that also
complies with each of the requirements prescribed in this paragraph.

If the PERFORM Act becomes law, webcasters who use the statutory
SoundExchange licenses to play music would have to give up MP3 streaming in
favor of a DRM-restricted, proprietary formats that impose restrictions on
any recordings made. So much for great time-shifting technologies like
Streamripper and

[UPDATED to reflect bill number and language as introduced in the
Congressional Record.]

Ok- that's a lot to digest. Meantime, we'll accumulate as many show ideas for the spy-types as possible. See you Sunday.
